A Newborn Specialist does not have to be a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Nursery Nurse (NNEB in the UK) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) , Sometimes we are referred to as "baby nurses" but in some states it is illegal to call yourself a nurse if you are not licensed as such , although some of us do have these qualifications. Newborn Care Specialists draw on a variety of experiences and education to provide quality infant care while helping to educate parents, establish routines, and allowing parents to enjoy their newborn and enjoy a better quality of family life. If you only wish to hire a licensed nurse please make sure you let us know.
Whether your newborn baby is healthy or facing medical conditions upon discharge from the hospital, an Overnight Newborn Care Specialist can provide new parents with a wealth of professional experience and knowledge. She can assist you in monitoring your newborn baby, lactation support, providing experienced and professional care and can help identify problems and ease the concerns of a first time parent.
